Friends of the Rosary,
Today, August 22, is the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a feast that follows the solemnity of the Assumption.
This celebration reminds us that Mary, the humble handmaid exalted by God, shares in the victory of her Son, the King of Kings.
Mary is Queen after she received God’s word with a servant’s heart, and not because she grasped for status.
The main message of the Gospel today (Matthew 23:1–12) is that God’s glory dwells with the humble. Jesus warns against pride, religious show, and the pursuit of titles or honor.
True greatness is service: “The greatest among you must be your servant.”
