Friends of the Rosary,
In today’s Gospel (Matthew 18:15-20), on the twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus teaches how to seek reconciliation when someone sins.
“I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Love is not passive. It corrects gently, forgives sincerely, and works for communion.
“If your brother listens to you, you have won him over.”
Saint Paul (Romans 13:8-10) says every commandment is fulfilled in love.
And God calls us to take responsibility for one another with love, not judgment.
“If two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,
it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.”
There are millions of lukewarm Christians who would have been active members of Christ’s mystical body if we had fulfilled this obligation, which Christ has imposed on us all.
The salvation of a soul is the greatest “victory” imaginable.
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
