Friends of the Rosary,
Today, on the feast of Saint Charles Borromeo, Archbishop of Milan and great reformer of the Catholic Church, the Lord talks in the Gospel (Luke 14:25–33) about the cost of authentic discipleship.
“Everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.”
The Lord addressed the crowds with a demanding message: following Him requires a commitment greater than every earthly attachment.
Love for God must occupy the highest place in the Christian heart.
Christ teaches that every human relationship must be ordered toward God’s truth and goodness.
“Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.”
Christian faith is not simply a source of consolation or an intellectual conviction. It demands sacrifice, perseverance, and personal transformation.
The Gospel challenges the modern tendency to seek spiritual fulfillment without accepting responsibility or sacrifice.
True freedom emerges when we allow God’s will to guide our decisions, possessions, relationships, and ambitions, trusting that whatever we surrender for His sake will find its proper meaning in eternity.
St. Charles Borromeo, the saint of the day, demonstrated the cost of discipleship through his dedication to Church reform, pastoral responsibility, and care for the suffering.
His life revealed that authentic spiritual leadership requires personal sacrifice and unwavering fidelity to God.
Today is also the birthday of Maria Blanca, co-founder of the Rosary Network, who departed to the glory of Heaven on October 28, 2021.
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
