Friends of the Rosary,
Today, the Feast of St. Justin, the Gospel (Mark 12:1-12) presents the parable of the landowner who leased a vineyard to tenants. This vineyard stands for Israel and the whole world. But God’s people miserably failed in their duty.
The landowner sent his servants to the tenants to obtain the produce, and these were beaten, killed, and stoned. Then he sent his beloved son, but the tenant seized and killed him.
“What then will the owner of the vineyard do?
He will come, put the tenants to death,
and give the vineyard to others.”
“The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes?”
