Friends of the Rosary,
Today, the Fifth Sunday of Easter, we read in the Gospel of John (John 14:1-4), howJesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be. Where I am going, you know the way.”
Christ said this to enlighten his Apostles, who, until Pentecost, were slow, seeing in Jesus only a mere man with power from God and a political Messiah who was about to establish a prosperous and peaceful earthly Kingdom free from foreign domination.
Christ often claimed to be God, but His words fell on deaf ears. It was only after His resurrection that they began to understand that He was indeed the Son of God, in human nature.
Still today, we are sinful, ungrateful creatures, with a limited capacity for love, unable to form an idea of the goodness, compassion, and infinite love of God.
But as we are created “in His own image and likeness”, and despite our limited intelligence, we can grasp part of the mystery of humanity.
All He asks is that we try to live our daily life thanking Him for the gift of Christ and the grace of the faith.
Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
