Friends of the Rosary,
The crowd said to Jesus said to the crowd, as we read in the Gospel today (John 6:30-35):
“My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world.”
The people then asked, “Sir, give us this bread always.”
And Christ, in response to those who sought Him for earthly bread, revealed Himself as divine nourishment:
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”
To come to Christ is an act of the will; to believe is the response of faith, St. Augustine wrote.
Christ is the only one who can satisfy the deepest longings of the human heart. In Christ, every spiritual need is met.
Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
