Friends of the Rosary,

After Jesus had fed the five thousand men and his disciples saw him walking on the sea, the crowd was looking for Jesus, as we read in the Gospel today (John 6:22-29), Monday of the Third Week of Easter:

Jesus, seeing what was in their hearts, invited them to believe in Him and said:

“Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me
not because you saw signs
but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.”
So they said to him,
“What can we do to accomplish the works of God?”

St. Augustine rightly wrote:
“How often do we seek the Lord for what He can give us rather than for who He is?”

“The food that perishes satisfies only for a moment, but the food that endures for eternal life nourishes the soul forever.”

“Christ invites us to labor not for earthly bread alone, but for the Bread of Life which He himself will give.”

“Our restless seeking for temporary satisfactions must give way to faith in the One sent by the Father. The Father has set His seal upon the Son, marking Him as the true sustenance of humanity.”

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!

Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
