Friends of the Rosary,
Today, the memorial day of Saint Louis of France and Saint Joseph Calasanz, priest, we see in the Gospel (Matthew 23:23–26) how Jesus forcefully calls the Pharisees—and us—to change their hearts and behavior, and not to be trapped by the ego and its narrow concerns.
When the Lord says, “Reform your life,” he means to move from that old mind and make him the center of your life.
Also today, in his letter to the Thessalonians (2:1–3a, 14–17), Saint Paul says not to be shaken by rumors, fear, or confusion, but to “stand firm” in the faith. In the Gospel, Jesus warns against looking religious on the outside while neglecting mercy.
Today’s lesson is that God wants a clean heart, not just clean appearances. Faith is not panic, performance while missing love. It is standing firm in truth and letting mercy shape, avoiding distraction or fear.
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
