Friends of the Rosary,
No soul is insignificant to God, and no sincere return to Him goes unnoticed. This is how God’s infinite mercy works. St. Faustina Kowalska reminded us in her spiritual writings that no human misery exceeds God’s capacity to forgive.
In today’s Gospel (Luke 15:1–10), on the Saint Sylvia of Rome, Mother of Saint Gregory the Great, Jesus presents the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin, responding to criticism from the Pharisees.
“I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.”
“In just the same way, I tell you,
there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.”
The Lord reveals how God actively seeks those who have wandered away from Him. Divine love is not passive or indifferent; it pursues the sinner with extraordinary patience and celebrates every genuine return to grace.
Every soul has immeasurable dignity before God, and Christ’s mission of salvation shows that divine mercy seeks to restore those who have become spiritually lost.
The Gospel also invites us to avoid adopting an attitude of condemnation or superiority, as we Christians are called to participate in God’s desire for reconciliation. The joy of heaven over one repentant sinner reminds us that conversion restores a beloved child to communion with the Father.
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
