Friends of the Rosary,
On this first Friday of the month, Christ the Lord invites us to use earthly resources with wisdom.
In today’s Gospel (Luke 16:1–8), Jesus presents the challenging parable of the dishonest steward, a man who acts decisively when confronted with the loss of his position. Christ highlights his determination and practical intelligence but does not praise his dishonesty.
This parable invites us to examine how we employ the resources, opportunities, and abilities entrusted to us.
The lesson is that those seeking eternal life should show at least as much seriousness and foresight as those pursuing temporary worldly advantages. Jesus is calling us to exercise prudence not merely in organizing our earthly affairs but in directing our entire existence toward God
If we carefully plan our financial future, professional development, and material security, we have to plan prayer, charity, and spiritual growth in the same way. Jesus challenges us to apply at least the same intelligence, discipline, and determination to saving our souls that we routinely devote to the passing affairs of this world.
In other words, if we devote so much intelligence and energy to securing our earthly future, how much more should we dedicate to preparing for eternal life with God?
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
