Friends of the Rosary,
The plot by the Jewish leaders against Lord Jesus continues to mount as we approach Palm Sunday and His sorrowful passion, according to today’s main Gospel reading (John 11:45-56).
The Pharisees knew Jesus’ work was supernatural, but they prioritized their earthly prideful interests, planning to kill him. Picture the scene: the dominant Church of that time against the Author of Life.
“The chief priests and the Pharisees
convened the Sanhedrin and said,
“What are we going to do?
This man is performing many signs.
If we leave him alone, all will believe in him,
and the Romans will come
and take away both our land and our nation.”
So Jesus decided no longer to walk in public among the Jews, and he left for the region near the desert, to a town called Ephraim, and there he remained with his disciples, while the Passover was near.
The Scripture tells that in the meantime, “many of the Jews who had come to Mary and seen what Jesus had done began to believe in him.”
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
